In Vivo Medical Telemetry Systems
ATi telemetry systems have been used to transmit data from everything from goats to helicopters. The system pictured on this page was use to measure lower back strain in a primate. The custom, titanium sensor utilized strain gages to measure stress in 16 axis. A multiplexing telemetry transmitter broadcast the data to the external mainframe style receiver. Highly optimized for low power usage, the system was able to operate for 5 months using two standard 9 volt batteries.
